Chipster user account Instructions

Chipster is a user-friendly analysis software for high-throughput data. It contains over 300 analysis tools for next generation sequencing (NGS), microarray, proteomics and sequence data. Users can save and share automatic analysis workflows, and visualize data interactively using a built-in genome browser and many other visualizations. Chipster's client software uses Java Web Start to install itself automatically, and it connects to computing servers for the actual analysis. The application 'Chipster', can grant the access to the open source platform using a graphic interface in which can be done the following operations:

  • Setup Chipster user credentials
  • Access Chipster

Setup Chipster credentials

Before to access Chipster application it is necessary to setup your own Chipster credentials. In this case the application will present a submission form with the portal username as Chipster useraname and a random generated password that the user can change pressing the 'repeat' button.

The Execute button will send the selected credentials pair to the Chipster server.

A 'Show/Hide' button, allows to show/hide a list credentials requests. This list also allows to remove these entries by clicking the trash can icon at the beginning of each request record. Inside each entry, it is possible to show the status of the credential setting operation, that when at least one DONE status entry exists a 'Hide form' button will appear, inviting the user to switch to the Chipster access page.

Access Chipster

Once the user Chipster credentials have been defined and submitted successfully to the Chipster server, the application will present a different interface, allowing the user to access the Chipster application. From this new interface, it is also possible to come back to the user credential form in order to reset credentials if it is necessary. This could be necessary due to security reasons or because previous credentials got expired.
